At last....we have some warming rays to sooth our mind, body and soul...it brings a cheerful tune to my ears, pings a playful song of summer....and teases me to sit and begin to write to you....
Observe where I sit, the chair that surrounds
Its cushion supporting and comforting
I sink into it with relaxation and choice
Taking a moment to breathe
Sipping a steaming mug of tea
Sinking my teeth into the sweet
Taste of the forbidden sugar rush
That sits alongside my cuppa
That sits alongside my cuppa
No one vying for my attention
I relish this before I become complacement
And the moment shifts, slipping
Down the cracks of responsibility
It's funny how what you want, when seeming nigh on impossible to achieve, you find you're there and what can happen.....it can be brushed aside with unwelcome thoughts hindering the moment and barging its way forward to dismiss your welcoming hello.
So bearing this in mind, I will say a firm goodbye to those niggling thoughts that intend to spoil this moment and glue my concentration on where I want to be, offering it first place in order of preference.
I feel a thirst coming on and welcome the thought of another cuppa.....alright for some...smug even... you may think and you'd be right. A little pampering goes a long way in strengthening our resolve to continue forward and remain resilient. Don't forget if we feel cared for we have more to give out to those we love and want to spend our time with.
So I'll enjoy my moments of 'me' time without feeling the guilt march composing its dirge. It's okay to enjoy and not feel as though it's the 'selfish' card. Rather, pull out the 'self care' card from the pack, it has softer connotations and keeps me company rather than speaking with judgemental mealy mouthed overtones.
I choose to pass this on to you all and invite you to sit for a while and contemplate where you find yourself. Do you have time for you? Or are you on a neverending wheel of do's and don'ts that keep you in a straight jacket and on a strict path to monotony?
I know that things have to get done, for some more than others, and I don't wish to be dismissive but if we don't care for ourselves, who will.....? So delegate if you dare, offer out and trust someone else who may very well have hidden supportive talents and can do aswell as you, they might surprise you or you might even surprise yourself.
Keep on swimming in the stream of life and don't forget....take time out for yourself....you sure deserve it.
Til next time.
